(Gary is the blogger this week) This past week was the second week of the new semester with some new students attending Institute classes on Thursday evening. It is hard to plan for lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays because we never know how many students will come. It can be anywhere from 5 to 15. I taught on Tuesday during lunch. Our Institute supervisor from Indianapolis came on Thursday for the noon lesson. Brenda was teaching that day and did wonderfully. Wednesday was our district meeting with the other missionaries. We also taught at Marion (40-miles away) that evening for the second time. We only had three students again at Marion but two were different students than last week. I taught the lesson and Brenda provided cheese & crackers, carrots and other healthy food for refreshments. All three enjoyed the healthy refreshments. Teaching in Marion on Wednesdays gives us a chance to revise and improve the lesson for Thursdays - which I did. We spent most of Monday helping again at the remodel home then got home to be ready for FHE at the Institute building. There is an emphasis in the mission on having members present at each investigator lesson. Brenda spent several hours on Friday typing up a spreadsheet of member availabilty so the Elders will know who to call in the Branch.

One morning for our walk we went to the Minnetrista Museum to see an art show. Another morning we rode bikes for 40-minutes taking a spur trail that we had not ridden on before. It went to a ball park that had a walking path around. That area was probably factories when the railroad tracks went there. On Saturday we went to Kevin's home for the weekend stopping at Costco on the way to load up on plates, cups, napkins, chips and other items for Institute lunch and refreshments. On the way to Kevin's the freeway was backed up so we took an exit and went the rest of the way on the old highway, which goes close to the new

church building in Lafayette. This building is out in the middle of no where, but there is a new subdivion going in next to the church building.The Lafayette 3rd Ward and a Spanish branch meet in that building. Kevin took us and Bryson to a Purdue football game. It was fun seeing the band (Bryson will be learning to play the trumpet this year), the traditions there, and feeling the excitement of the game. Purdue easily beat Eastern Kentucky (46-6), although Purdue did have a point-after kick blocked and a couple of interceptions. The air temperature was cooler that day after a morning rain but it was 100% humidity - convincing us to leave early and get back to an air conditioned house.

On Sunday, Gary ordained Kevin a high priest. Kevin was than set apart to be an assistant in the group leadership. We had a good dinner with the family followed by Rock Band playing before returning to Muncie. We have enjoyed visiting on facetime with Kristin and seeing all the cute items she has crocheted for their new baby while waiting it out in the hospital.
