We are here in Muncie! This is the Institute and our home (we live in the 1-story apartment connected to the old two-story Institute building). Our Elders (the Ball State missionaries - Elder Moore and Elder Tapp) were waiting for us when we arrived and helped us unload our car. The branch president's wife, Sister Jacobsen, had left a huge Boston fern and a large bowl of fresh fruit as a welcome gift. The young adults had written notes to us and they were "hidden" all over the institute. We felt very welcomed. Before we knew it, Sister Jacobsen arrived to guide us to the church for FHE. We met a ton of the young adults that evening and enjoyed it. We made a quick stop for pillows on the way home. The next two days and Friday were spent cleaning and fixing and shopping and organizing and painting, and setting up computers & a printer and moving furniture and fixing blinds and repairing the vacuum . . . . . Our apartment is now clean and liveable and ready for us. Next week we can tackle the institute side. In between we spent all day(12 hours)Thursday in Fishers (an hour away) at our Zone Conference. We visited with two other missionary couples and saw about 60 young missionaries. Before heading home we went to Costco!(we love that place!) We now have food to eat and some supplies. Several young adults have dropped by the institute, and the missionaries drop by a couple times each day to teach or plan. The stake president stopped in Wednesday night. Friday evening we attended a graduation/mission farewell party for a young lady in the branch who will be soon be serving in the Provo, UT mission! Today was preparation day. We went to the farmer's market and got some plants for the front porch. I feel more at home now that I've planted something! We are soon off to the Sat. night session of stake conference. Sure is green here - and we know why. It has rained nearly every day since we arrived. All is well.
