We are thrilled to report that Adria is improving daily. Many heartfelt thanks to all who have prayed and fasted for her and Kristin and their family. Adria is now 6 days old, is off the cpap and is using a high pressure nasal canula for oxygen. She still has an IV for antibiotics and a feeding tube. She is more alert and moving more. Kristin and Joe are very attentive parents and are so grateful for her improvement. Kristin was released Friday and spent her first night in the home they were just moving in to when she ended up in the hospital August 15th. The emotional rollercoaster continues as she and Joe make trips to the hospital and go home without their daughter.
We spent many hours thinking about, praying for, and following the progress of Kristin and Adria. We went to dinner on Tuesday at Amazing Joe's to celebrate Adria's arrival. Preparing lessons and lunches helped us focus on the work. Gary taught the Tuesday lunch lesson and the Institute classes on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Brenda taught the Thursday lunch lesson and was excited that we had a girl there who is investigating the church. We hope more of the YSAs will bring their non-member friends to come and learn about Jesus Christ and his teachings. We fed 12 missionaries after our District Meeting this week. We have some YSAs who have discovered "Dominion" and like to stay after Munch & Mingle to play. It was great to have an interview with President Kent Collins on Thursday and to visit with Sister Connie Collins too (she was teaching those young missionaries to eat more fiber!). They always make us feel so glad we came on a mission. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and games with our Branch President and his wife on Friday evening. We felt spiritually fed at our Sunday meetings today - church and the monthly CES Coordinating Council meeting. It is so neat to see these young adults serving faithfully in their callings, realizing the blessings that come from being obedient, and growing in their testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
