Brenda flew to Utah (with permission from our mission president) on Monday morning and surprised Kristin, then spent the week helping Kristin and taking care of her children. Kristin spent most of the week at the hospital, feeding her newborn. Sunday evening Brenda loved the 3 hours she got to hold 13-day-old Adria, who came home from the hospital that afternoon - with oxygen and monitors still attached. Gary did all the teaching and cooking and everything else in Muncie while Brenda was away. He had a very busy week - the busiest week yet for Munch & Mingle. After four weeks of the fall semester we realized that many of the students can't come to Munch & Mingle on Tuesdays or Thursdays but could come on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. We took a survey last Sunday and decided to move the Thursday Munch & Mingle to Friday. This change worked because we had 19 YSAs come on Friday and only 11 on Tuesday. I taught a short New Testament lesson while eating lunch. Two non-members came on Friday. We also had three investigators on Thursday evening for institute. One investigator is a guy that used to come every week, but hadn't come for a couple of months. It is good to have him back. The students have started to use the table tennis and board games much more. They played games on Friday after lunch for a couple of hours; some came back at 4:00 for a surprise birthday party for an investigator and stayed for more board games. A new investigator that the young missionaries just started teaching came to Family Home Evening. I hope we have some more baptisms in October. Our institute class in Marion continues with just three students again this past week. Ball State University football team is doing well. The last two games have been really close with Ball State coming out on top. I was able to watch Saturday’s exciting game on the internet.
