Today we had our first teaching opportunity with an "investigator" (a man who really was a convert but is now an MTC volunteer to help the missionaries learn how to teach the gospel). Our investigator was a 69 year old black man from Chicago who had been to a Tabernacle Choir concert and we received his referral. Our teachers prepared us and we prepared scriptures and questions to use in the lesson. We can see that being good at this takes some practice! This will definitely help us as we converse with investigators. The biggest lesson we learned today is "We Teach People Not Lessons!" We ate dinner with a professional institute teacher who was quite surprised that a couple with no insitutute experience would be called to serve in an institute. We enjoyed a session at the Provo Temple tonight - and missed the rain storm. We are enjoying the MTC. Good thing we won't have all-you-can-eat food, drinks, and desserts in Muncie! It was new missionary arrival day. Each new elder and sister was assigned a host to be with them today.
